Home Made Lasagne

Updated: Apr 7, 2021

There are so many recipes online about making lasagne, but many of them just don't suit a lazy person or someone who can't really cook.

Out of all the recipes online, I have learned to twisted them to make my own recipe. And it turns out great!

These are all you need to make my Lasagne.

4 Lasagne sheets

1 pack of 5 Star Extra Lean Beef Mince 500g (from Coles)

Half big brown onion, coarsely chopped

1 whole fresh tomatoes, chopped into small cubes

1 small carrot, chopped into small cubes

1 table spoon of minced garlic

1 Leggos Tomato Paste Regular 280g

Few drops of olive oil

A table spoon of red wine (shiraz is my choice)

A few fresh basil leaves

A bit of italian herbs and black pepper (just add whatever amount as you like)

Westacre Tasty Cheese - shredded or slice (from Aldi)

Mozzarella Cheese (handful)

A bit of Parmesan Cheese

Step 1:

Cook the mince mixture.

Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan till it is hot. Add the onion and garlic and cook for 2-3 mins. Add the mince and cook, stirring with a wooden spoon to break up any lumps until mince is cooked (you will see it changes colour). Add carrot, tomato, wine and tomato paste, and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low. Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes or until sauce thickens slightly. Remove from heat. Taste and season with italian herbs, fresh basil leaves and pepper.

Step 2:

Preheat oven to 180°C. Brush a rectangular 2-3L capacity ovenproof dish with oil to lightly grease. Spread one-quarter of the mince mixture over the base of the prepared dish. Arrange 1 lasagne sheet over the sauce. Top with one-third of the mince mixture with some tasty cheese on it. Continue layering with the remaining lasagne sheets, mince mixture and tasty cheese, finishing with a layer of mozzarella. Place on a baking tray. Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes or until cheese melts, is golden brown, and the edges are bubbling. Remove from oven and set aside for 10 minutes to set.

Step 3:

Serve it in whichever way you like. I like to have it with a bit of baby spinach salad and garlic bread. Don't forget to add some Parmesan cheese on top before you eat it! Enjoy :)
